Well got some free Jeep coil springs and now I'm starting to be convenced to do coils. They are 21 inch high coils and are from rusty's off road (for pictures check out my thread page 8). They were originally used on my D30. Looking at it now it would be easier and cheaper to put coils under my truck, just need to hook it up in 3 to 5 places, using 4x4junkie's picture for a 3 place hook up.

There are lots of threads on this and lots of info here. But keeping a coil spring axle coils is easier making it leaf, especially since the coil spacing is almost dead on.

my stock ttb coil measures 13" unloaded. Thats 8 inches right there. Granted those coils will have a softer spring rate, so call it 6 inches. You aren't exactly looking at low lift anymore.

Decided to do coils. I might have to cut them....we shall see when the axle is put under the truck and the trucks weight is on them. Might be able to change the oil on my knees. They aren't the softest coils though they feel about the same as a Rangers do. All this talk makes me want to do it now but have to finish the interior of my truck and hunting season is just about here. Like I said the one major thing stopping me is not having any steering linkage for my D30.

it has a d35 now i have set it up for life springs for the d30 jeep what do i use for stering

The D30 linkage. Use a 95 ball joint that hooks into the pitman instaed of the Jeeps. Thats what I've read to use.
