i have a question about the springs im going to use in my solid axle ranger. its a full size hp d44 and i have skyjacker 6" lift ranger springs. i have heard that you shouldnt use rbv springs on a solid axle swap. but why shouldnt you use those springs while doing the swap?

the ttb coils are to stiff

i work at an auto parts store and i just checked the sprig rate on the ranger springs which is a 377 and an f150 spring which is a 271, does that mean the f150 springs will be a softer ride but they a capable of carrying more weight?

Most ttb coils are in the range of 450-500 lbs/in.

I would say check the load rating as well as ppi. I'm guessing that the same load rating and a lighter ppi is what you'd want.

Hope this helps,

Im running the ttb springs with an eb44 and it drives fine down the road and doesnt seem any stiffer of a ride on the street but i can tell using a floor jack that you wont get any flex out of them.

TTB = nutcracker

TTB does suck, hit a pothole the other day and it was like getting my teeth busted out, no flex or give of any kind from the TTB.

Yeah, because certainly it's not those stiff POS coils that suck... :rolleyes:

Well now the side that hit the pothole is leaning down 2 inches. And why invest money into my POS D28 that all the u-joints are shot and now it has a mistory lean going on.
