I recently picked up axles out of a 72 f250. does anyone know if its still easy to swap into a b2....it has the closed knuckle front...
any advice on setting up stearing???
whats the best way to go about driveshafts when stretching wheelbase and currently having CV style???

please help......
thankyou

Have you tried searching?? There is a ton of info on this site on how to put a solid axel in to a ranger or B2, i have done it twice, and currently building rig number 3.

is it easy?? depends on how good you are at fabricating, weither it is going to be coil sprung or leaf. link or radius arms. I think it is easy but i have built 2 rigs, 4 races cars, go-karts, and have help many people with there trucks and race cars.

The best is to search and read, serch and read and search are read some more.

If its closed knuckle, throw it away and get one that is open knuckle.

^^^ I agree with sasquatch_ryda, open is better.

ok...I have been looking for any info on swapping in the closed knuckle....since that is what I have for now and it was free.....i see a lot of info for swapping in all the other axles in(dana 44 open knuckle).....is closed knuckle and open the same to put in??? I will put in an open after I come across one for the right price......I will be running leafs

I'm going to be running leafs when I do my SAS. From the looks of it it would be easier to do. My D30 came off a Cherokee that had coils on it and I have to strip it of all that stuff and put leaf perches on it. I also got a D35 with detroit locker ,new bearings, and seals. Oh ya I got them both for free.

Free is good. Use it if it was free.

As for if closed knuckle and open knuckle are the same to put in youll have to do some research on that. I assume (I know I shouldnt) they are the same.

One problem Im having is finding info on how people put a D30 under a ranger and what stearing components to use and such.
