I am trying to prepare to do a sas on a 86 ranger. I am using coil/radius arm set up.The axle is from a 76-77 bronco. The truck is my daily driver so i need as little down time as posible.

The main questions i have are:

1.steering what is the easiest, fastest, and safe way to do?
2.brake lines will extended ones from my truck work?
3.Track bar, is it best to get one for a eb or have one made?
4. about how much lift will 4" coils from a 79 bronco give?

Thanks for any info

im doing this now im confused too but i got 73 eb d44 79 bronco radius arms brackets going to try to use my 87 ranger 4in lift spings to see if it will work :fie:

I was going to use the 4" springs that are on my ranger now,but i already had the full size 4" coils. this way i can sell the lift after i do the sas

Don't use Ranger TTB lift coils, they are WAAAYYY to stiff (why the TTB don't flex for s#!t either)

4" FS Bronco coils should net around 6-7" lift on a Ranger using a solid axle. They'll be a bit stiff also though, might want to use early Bronco coils.

Ranger brake hoses should fit the D44 calipers fine, just make sure they're long enough.

The track bar I would make, myself. Some have successfully used EB brackets though.

EB steering linkage can be used, although it's weak right where the draglink connects to the tirerod. I would go with a custom linkage that puts the draglink connection closer to the knuckle.

is there any mods to the pitman arm or does the eb drag linl just bolt in?

At the most you'd have to redrill the taper a little bigger, but not sure.

I will have to look into that some more. Thanks for the help.
