Ok, Ive got a problem that i discovered tonight. I Have the passengers side of my axle all setup with the spring perch and the link mount on it(for a 3 link system).

Now when i went to setup the same thing on the drivers side of the axle, i decided to drill holes in the link tabs before putting them on the axle. and since i had the holes drilled in the tabs before hand i decided it would be a good idea to have the link bolted to the link mount and tied to the frame in the position it would go so that i could visualize how things were going to fit together.

I had everything all set to go, and i was about to tack things into place when i knocked the wheel climbing around to get into position to tack weld, and the tire hit the link and moved everything!

Now this is a HUGE problem. Expecially since i have 31" tires on at the moment and In the end i plan to run a 35" tire. How can i set this up so that at full lock i wont rub the tires on the links?

Or where can i have a bend put in the links?

As it is right now the links mount under where the spring perch is. Right about where i figured the origonal wedges would go.

I could take pictures to better describe if i have to, just wont be able to till 2morrow after work.

He's not asking for help on how to put the link arm back where it was.
He's saying that with 31" tires hes going to rub the link arms really bad, and hes going to run 35" so its going to really kill the turning radius. I don't have any suggestions, just clearing up the situation.

Where are the links pivoting from the frame? You may need to bring them inboard some in order to prevent rubbing. The only problem with that is designing the geometry so that the links work together and do not bind....

Ok. I think ive got it figured out now. I only had the passengers side tack welded together and i was able to move the drivers side mounts and link around to see what was hitting.

No matter what i did the tire would hit, even if i had the link mount all the way over to the gear case. I realized that there was a stop that only worked going one way. So in order to stop the drivers side tire from going beyond its range of motion it needs to be linked to the passengers side tire.

Long story and thought train cut short, i took the drag link and tierod ends from the origonal ranger steering setup put them onto the dana 44 spindles aimed the tires reletively straight and welded them all together so that it was solid. then found out that where i had the links origonaly was fine for 31" tires. They will possibly rub with 35", so im going to move the mount over a bit and hope for the best.
