Samurai lift

Got some more work done on the Sami today. I had two bolts that would not come out and needed some persuasion......

Finally got the driver side spring off....

By the looks of the spring bushings (I think they were the originals and the fronts looked nothing like these) I ordered some new ones in (of course I can't find any around here so they should be here Monday). Here are just a couple more pics I snapped.....

The last is almost ride height. I understand the concern about the U-Bolts hanging down< I plan on cutting the excess off and cleaning the threads up after the install, so it should just be a smooth, almost slider on the shock mount (Tthe rears are different in their design).

What kind of lift (brand..) is that lift?

It is a Rocky Road bolt on 6" SPOA with the OTT steering and shocks. from the ZukiKrawler boards they are a bad place to deal with (I didn't know this when I ordered from them), but I have had pretty good luck with them so far. Everything has been in the kit, they have been helpful with my questions, etc. Maybe they are trying to turn their company around (especially their CS). true there are some things that I might have different on this kit, but so far everything is as they said it would be.

Well the rear springs are finally in. i had to cut the front spring bushings completely out (glad I have a torch). I need to tighten everything up yet, and I still might replace the shackle bushings. more pics tomorrow (I might have it on the rubber tomorrow as well).

New pics......

Shocks and E-Brake cables hooked up (brake lines are also done on passenger side)

Sitting on all 4 once again. It really looks good in person. here is a before shot

I went to the JY the other day and I think I can make tracker seats fit in there, so that will be the next major project in the ZUK. I still have to do the OTT steering (have to take the knuckle/caliper apart), hook up the rear D-Shaft and bleed the brakes, and she should be mobile.

That thing looks awesome man! I LOVE IT!! :headbang: I wish I could find one for myself but I guess I have enough projects, for now anyway.......:shok:

Jr. and I took it for a spin around the block tonight and it still rides rougher than a buckboard (I think some new springs are in her near future). I need to get a new ball joint for the pitman arm side, just couldn't get it tighten up and its a little sloppy. Anyways here she is after her maiden voyage........

I picked up some Dodge Neon seats for this thing the other day. Fairly easy swap to put them on the Suzuki rails.....
Had to grind 3 rivets down on this side (4 on the other side) to get the triangle piece off the Neon rails. The triangle piece holds the back of the seat on.

These are both sides of the seats.....

I used the existing hole in the Neon seat and drilled a 1/4 in hole for the back, bolted them on the Zuk rails and installed in factory holes.....

These are much nice seats than what I had in there.....

to these...
