Safe to drive with broken power steering pressure sensor?

The metal top of my 1992 Ranger XLT 2wd manual trans power steering pressure switch broke off. No fluid is leaking. The top part, connected to the wiring, has a metal bar inside that appears to make contact with a pin in the bottom half of the sensor. No fluid is leaking out of the bottom of the sensor. Is this safe to drive while I order a new pressure sensor? Looks like tight quarters for the installation. Bloody knuckle time, for sure. Safe to drive before I replace the switch? I feel no difference in the power steering boost at high, medium and low RPM. I noticed it only today when I had the hood up. It might have corroded away and broken off a long time ago for all I know.

Totally fine to drive it as is. IIRC its function was to increase engine RPM at idle in certain situations.

No issue at all
Used to prevent engine stalls at idle when using power steering, i.e. in a parking lot, will bump up the idle RPMs if pressure gets too high

It will set a code if not working or disconnected, but code will self clear when its working again
