I was helpin my buddy with his truck last night and we ran into a problem. First of all the reason we were working on it is his radiator had a crack in it so we replaced it. Then it didn't start after we were done...
No idea why.
We're getting spark, not sure about fuel cuz i couldnt get the fuel line to disconnect. But i did spray starting fluid directly in the TB and it still didnt start even for a couple seconds. Tested the fuel pump relay and it's good, and the fuel pump primes when KOEOff. I know those tests dont gaurantee that we're getting fuel, but it sure seems like it should be. We did nothing to mess with timing or ignition.

Anybody have a clue?

It's a 2001 gmc sonoma 2.2l

Oh boy, the GM 2.2. Well we need a little more information. Does the engine crank when you turn the key or no? Do the dash lights light up with the KOEO?

Yep the engine cranks strong and we get all dash lights. He has a code reader, but it pulled no codes. Everytime the engine cranks over 1 revolution it acts like its going to start but thendoesnt. (Like maybe one cylinder fires and the rest dont?)

did u check to make sure there was fuel in the tank?

Sounds like something is disconnected. Check the coil pack and plug wires first. Also make sure you can hear the fuel pump priming. If the engine cranks then you're either missing spark or fuel. Just need to figure out why. If it was an RBV i'd say check the fuel intertia switch but that wouldn't apply here. And I don't think GM has an equivalent type device.

Man this is really weird. Yes theres gas in it lol.

Anyways, thanks for your help. I told him the best way to fix it is to buy a ranger.

2.2 has a timing belt, no? Wonder if the bitch jumped time ..
