My credo
Work hard and play harder
Since I no longer have a Ranger and I love this place, I thought I would start a build thread for my RX8 here.

Here is what I am starting with:
u4umezam.jpg

2005 Mazda RX8
1.3L rotary motor
6 speed manual transmission
Sunroof
Built-in navigation
Bose sound system

Plans:
Small drop
Quitter exhaust (yes I said quitter)
Bronze/copper colored wheels
Touch screen radio
(1) 10" Sundown sub running off a Sundown SAZ1500
Custom gauge pod set up w/ water temp, oil pressure and af ratio

Sent from the front seat of my RX8 as I blow by you looking damn good doing it.

What's a quitter exhaust?

What kind of fuel consumption do you get with it? The rx7's were pretty thirsty it stock form and even worse when the boost was pushed up.

It is straight piped now and is stupid loud above 4k. I get about 18 city 25 highway. I am not boosted yet. May or may not go that route.

Next week I am ordering my new exhaust. I am replacing everything from the header back i.e. cat, mid pipe and muffler. :icon_thumby:

I think the word he was reaching for was "quieter"

Ah! that makes a bit more sense. Can't imagine how loud it must be straight piped. I worked on an rx7 a while back that had a magnaflow mufler on and pushing eighteen pounds of boost, you could hear it from miles away if he had his foot into it.

I plan on boosting but that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the road.

Well while you have your current exhaust setup, slap a Go Pro on the back and see if you can get some flames to spurt out at WOT.

I have a friend who knows just about everything there is to know about the RX-8 and the proper intake/exhaust setups for them. He's just wrapping up rebuilding his 13B as we speak.

Love the RX-8 so much just because of his unique they are. Definitely subbing.

Little update:

The car is in the shop. 1 bad coil, clogged cat and failed compression test. That just means a new motor and exhaust for yours truly.

I think it will look pretty cool, just don't go to the dark side. (Ricer side) Lol

Did you have to replace/rebuild the motor?
