Hey guys,

Just about to pull the project back out and start back working on it. (been stuck on my trailer in a compound with 4 feet of snow:()

Just wondering who has tried what for Rubberized Compound. I am going to do the frame, under the box, cab and the lower fenders and rocker panels.

I have tried 3m before and was not to impressed, but maybe it was just me?

Lets here the stories and see the pictures of how they turned out and how long they lasted.

Duplicolor? Hurculiner? 3M? Loctite? Plasti Dip?

Thanks!

anything you spray on isnt going to work very well, no matter how much prep work you do.

roll on is what you want. i had to make a shovel a few years ago during school. i had a custom handle/grip on it and i decided to use the spray rubber crap for it. as it was drying it shrank and cracked and looked like poo. i had to doctor it up with some bondo to get it to look right.

if you do use the spray on, lots of light coats is what you want.

There is some good spray on stuff, and while I forget the name, my Dad uses it on every resto he does. I'll find out what it is. Its the shit.

I dont care if I have to roll it, spray it or spit it lol. I want something that is going to work, stand up and not cost a fortune:)

I'm interested in this as well. After I finish the rust repair on my cab I want to undercoat the entire underside of it as an added layer of protection.

Personally I can't handle anything that requires an air compressor and sprayer. Anything else whether it's spray can, roll on or what ever can be used.

since your canadian, get this stuff. premium rubberized rocker guard at canadian tire. i use this for EVERYTHING. i done the frame of my 79 and b2 and neither of them show any signs of fade or wear or flaking, i got the floor of my b2 done with it and its still looking like the day i put it on, and when i done the door jambs the doors seal up nice and i got a bit of overspray on the outside of the body and its impossible to sand off, even the wire brush wont cut it. so out comes the grinder (paint job isnt coming till may or june anyways). i also had the rims of my old b2 done with it and she seen more bog and trees and trails than a skidder.
this is the toughest paint i have ever used/seen and the only thing ill buy if im looking for tough paint

oh and i painted the exterior of my 79 with it, she been through trees and atv trails and paint still looks new

Herculiner is pretty bad ass if I remember correctly... Though you need to be careful with your hootus

raptor liner.. is a 2 part application.. can get it online for about 100 with the gun its a polyurethane base i believe.. you get 4 liters of the liner and a liter of hardner works awesome and hardens up great

Keep the info coming boys, gonna start undercoating next weekend I hope
