I have a 1998 ford ranger V-6 3.0L that at times when the clutch is pushed in it will rev to 3000 or 3500 rpms. Since It doesn't do it everytime or even with any consistantcy I am stumped I am wondering if anyone else out there has had this problem and can help me.

Oh and I am new here and wanted to say thanks for the site.

So it idles just fine without the clutch pedal depressed (if so it can't be the IAC valve)? Check the clutch fluid.
