FYI. In case this hasn't been answered before.

I've had a rough idle with the a/c on to the point that the engine almost would stall.

As routine maintenance every year I normally clean the MAF and throttle body. This year I removed the throttle body to clean on my 92 2.3. It was pretty filthy. I made a point of cleaning the IAC as well as all the gunk off the throttle plate etc. Since I hadn't ever removed it before I discovered a very cracked and almost falling apart rubber hose on the bottom of the TB assembly. I didn't even know it existed or else I would have checked it sooner. This small 1.5" long hose connects the evap cannister to the throttle body lower port. I replaced it and the hose from the valve cover to the forward TB port as well. The engine idles great now with or without the a/c selected.

Imagine that that little hose won't even last 17 years. :D I thought Ford made better parts than this.:icon_confused:

To add to my first post. My gas milage has gone from 20.9 to 23.5 in around town driving.

This is a plus.:D

that's very interesting, thanks for posting, mine is pretty well rotten too. maybe i'll replace that today.
