Hey guys...

I have a 94 2.3 4 cyl 5 speed ranger. Ever since I bought it about two years ago it has always had a slight rough idle.About a month ago I notice that taking off from a stop the engine would want to stall a bit. About a few weeks ago while driving on the freeway it gives a code and runs worse then ever. I take it to a family mechanic that clears the code and links it to a bad IAC valve or EGR valve. First the IAC was replaced then the EGR . The next day I warm the truck up, drive twenty minutes then hit bumper to bumper trafic on the freeway. While waiting for traffic to move(stoped and idling) the engine then drops/stalls/powers down almost to the point of shutting off but then picks back up and idles ok. Then when I start to move forward(release clutch, press gas) the engine will then want to stall again.

The truck was taken to a diffrent mechanic where the cause was not found. The mechanic was able to point out that my rpms do drop.

Between the two mechanics several tests were peformed(compression, fuel pressure, vaccum,)

Any help would be very helpful...thanks.....

sounds like a vacuum leak.
