I made my rack out of once was a display rack at our shop..

Finished with the rack:

I mounted a roof rack from an explorer to the roof with nutzerts:

I took 1/4 inch rod and cut to length, I bent a hook to it on one side on a brake and threaded the other 1/4x20 for a wing nut, I also slid a small piece of fuel line onto the flat side of the hook:

Drilled 1/4 inch hole through the rack on all 4 corners, a pic without the rack:

The rack is easily installed and removed with 4 wing nuts:

Hope this helps....

that's kinda how I was planning on mounting mine..

mount the explorer roof rack to the top and then mount the "feet" to the basket rack to slide into the explorer roof rack bars. Make it nice and low profile IMO.

I was going to do mine the way you said, but I didn't want the basket rubbing on the roof once waited down with gear... The downfall to mine is that it won't fit in the garage with it on...

Thats clearly a flaw in the garage though, not the truck. lol

Let the air outta your tires before entering garage? Lol

I plan to keep a set of stock-height tires on wheels kicking around just so I can throw them on to put the truck somewhere it wouldn't fit with big tires... I dont have anywhere that it wont fit right now (just a tall carport around here right now) but I always dream of having a garage...

I don't have any pictures, but I installed a Yakima load warrior roof rack on a set of stock Bronco II rails. I picked up the Yakima basket used on craigslist nearly for free. It was very sun-faded and the guy thought it looked bad on his new Subaru outback because of it. I re-painted it and made a mount for 4 lights on the front. I clamped it down to the Bronco II cross-rails on the stock roof rack and it works great. It is the perfect size for the bronco II, as it is slightly larger than the rear side windows.

Also, have you guys heard that Wal-Mart stopped selling the 6" round Hella 500 lights? I had purchased a set back when they were $50 but I hear they quit selling them.
