Rip chance bruggeman

I'm definitely in. But jim could you keep it open til next Friday when I have enough money to donate.

im in too, ill do it through my cousin who lives in the US, hes a TRS member too btw.

I cant believe this. I was always laughing at his posts. Im in for the donation to help out the family.

That is a bad deal for sure. I can't say I really knew him, I had seen the name but I had to go look up his previous posts before I could put 2 and 2 together about who he was.

I looked it up on MSN and it said he drifted off the road at 1:30 am... wonder if he didn't fall asleep. Another site that may be a local newspaper has his obituary and a place to send donations.

Wonder how many users we lose a year that don't have a personal friend that also uses this site?

i agree with Jim on this.... Ive been thinking about this, what would people's thoughts of starting with the 2011 membership of raising the price one buck per member and putting it in a fund for when things like this happen?:dunno:

I commend you on your idea, but it would be a nightmare. That money could collect for a long time and I would have to keep account of every penny of it.

Jim, we trust you. That's why none of us are worried about it. Simple, really - just open a dedicated account to that end. Simple passbook account would suffice.

I don't think it's us that would worry, it the whole income tax/government that would make it a nightmare. But when I send in my premium membership I'm going to send in extra for Jim to do what he wants to with this fund.

Man o man, rest in peace Chance you will be missed. I propose we have a memorial section to remember those friends here on TRS that we have lost. We lost a soldier member just recently too. Maby it could be sticky'd for whatever amount of time that seems right while we grieve and then upon its entry to the memorial section it be announced so that we can all share and pay our respects together as a family. Maby the the member/members who were the closest should decide when it happens as they shared the most with their dear friend. I just dont like the thought of any of us being forgotten and its a way for us to visit a dear friend from afar, and we ARE spread out all over the globe. Its important to me that we remember and I believe it may help in the healing of our grief. Chance rest in the arms of our heavenly father for all time, hope to see you there someday kiddo.

ttt. I would like to hear consideration on a memorial section. This country(USA) as most do have them for soldiers, aviators, mariners, astronauts, humanitarions, discoverers ect... lets have one for our TRS friends, a sticky after so long is disrespectful and in bad taste. I for one would not keep putting my comrads obit"s on the cover's of the local rag's indefinitley. Death sucks and it hurts. When your life contract with your government say's you punch enough rounds in folks you dont even know to equal a mountain, yea sometimes we need a place to go... short of a first class ticket to hell.

i understand what your saying Jim. leave it to our money hungry government to take the kindness people have and make it even harder share when needed .:dunno:

anyone know how a non profit org gets to stock pile money till needed wouldn't this be the same???

As great an idea as it is in theory, I honestly think the system we're using now is better. Not only would it be a nightmare keeping track of how much was paid when we needed it, but then we also have the nightmare of deciding which of our members were worthy of it, and I'm sure at least a couple people may get a little pissed off.

With Jim setting up an account there's no strings attached and if you don't want to donate, you don't have to. Personal freedom at it's best.

As for merely donating to the fund listed in the obit, I think if we all donate to a paypal fund here and then combine them into a single donation from TRS to the fund listed in the obit it may better show what he meant to this community.

Just my opinions on the matter.

I couldn't agree more.

I agree.. A group donation would be best.

I'm working on the page now. I'll have it posted before I go to bed.

I will provide the information on where you can send money, and provide a method to donate through paypal as well.

Honestly, I would rather send the donation as a group effort. I'm sure it would meen a lot to the family if they new Chance had a strong enough impact to get a whole group to send money in his memory.

If people want to do it on their own that's fine too. Just give me about an hour.....
