is one brand actually better quality than another? pricing out some gears and was just wondering about the smaller company products with cheaper prices.

i was looking particularly at usa standard gears, and motive gears, as for a front and rear matching set would run me about $300- $350 as opposed to yukons $500 for a matching set.

Randy's Gears, and Yukon. I use them both on my 99 Ranger and have used them both on a lot of my 2wd and 4wd trucks and Bronco's and Jeeps!!!! Great stuff and THEY LAST!!!!!!

motive gears seem good, i mean some of the sportsman/pro-2 class offroad racers that ive talked to use motive gear and theyre doin 90+ on dirt and getting huge air. i dont see why they wouldnt hold up for a normal rig.

Motive makes a lot of the gear sets for vehicle manufacturers. I've been running front and rear motive sets for 6 years now with no issues.

Another good brand seems to be Nitro.

I just went with Ford Racing gears for $160.

thanks guys, just what i was looking for.

and if it makes any difference, they will be going into a hp d44 and ford 9" and theyll be either 5.13s or 5.38s
