My Wife has aftermarket rims on her 1995 ford probe we plan on selling the car but she does not want to let it go with the rims on it, was wondering if they would fit on my 94 Ranger. goin to see if I can find the offset info online

even if the bolt pattern is correct, the offset will probably be way off.

edit: it looks like the bolt pattern is correct. the offset will probably be wrong and they will probably be really narrow. put them on and see....

The bolt pattern I came up with on the probe is 5-100 where on the ranger its 5-114.5 so I think thats a no sigh.

5x100mm sounds more correct.

OTOH, by the time you get lug-pattern adapters, you might be close to the correct baskspacing.

the 2 different places i read said 5 on 114, which is 4.5"

although since its based on the mazda chassis, i wouldnt be surprised if it was 5 on 100. my escort is based on a mazda chassis and it's 4 on 100

Well, ford may have changed it to run brakes/hub unit/assembly from another vehicle state-side, or run a rim from their inventory that they didn't feel like changing their tooling on. so there is a chance. But yes, it's a Mazda chassis, so who knows.

*edit: Well Jay FX4 seems quite confident that it is indeed 5x4.5". I guess you'll just have to try it SoloRanger.

If you have both vehicles right there, why not just try it? 10 minutes to find out once and for all.

But if the Probe is 5x100mm, yes I'm confident it won't fit.

This is Ford we're talking about. They do a lot of crap that doesn't make sense.

You're right about the Escort bolt pattern. I had an '01 ZX2 that was the same. I got rid of the car but kept my 17's. I thought they'd fit on my mom's '01 Focus, since they're both Ford and both 4-lug. Did they fit? Of course not! The Focus is 4x108. Why save money using the same components on two car models when you can change crap around for no reason whatsoever? Way to go, Ford!:thefinger::icon_confused:

nope, escort wheels wont fit on a focus. 17's, huh? you still got em??

thats cause the escort was based on a mazda chassis with mazda suspension. the focus is all ford

If you're interested, let me know and I'll dig 'em out and take more detailed pics. If not, I had expected to have them collecting dust in my garage for eternity anyway....
One other note - all four tires are TOTALLY BALD - to the point that there's some metal sticking out in spots. Also, I see we're pretty close together so I'm sure we could work something out w/o shipping. It's cool if you're not interested though, they are out of mind and sight in the rafters of my garage.....
