i have a 3.0 5 speed 2000 ranger. when i try and shift from 1-2 or 2-3 it mskes me push hard to get it into gear and makes a noise like something is revving up. this only happens when i get the rpm's high in 1st or 2nd gear and go to shift to the next. any ideas?

just checked it and its a ok, that was the first place i looked. The tranny just started doing this and its annoying.

Sounds like the synchro's trying to spin the gear up to speed.

I can hear this very faintly in mine when I try to get it into 1st while rolling too fast, I have to have the radio off to hear it though.
