reverse lights

Can someone help me out of my little predicament? I just finished up my 5R55E to M5R1 swap and I can't get the reverse lights to come on. I took the reverse switch wires out of the manual trans harness I have and put them in the pins on the gray auto trans harness connector that had the same color wires (purple/orange and black/pink). I tried this with both the swapped manual computer and the auto computer. Checked fuse and bulbs to be in working order. I'm assuming I'm missing a jumped wire from the old DTS. Right now I have the pink and tan wires jumped for it to start. Thanks for the help in advance.

I could have sworn I saw an issue specifically referring to this in the Tech Library in the transmission swap library. Sorry, I've never done the swap myself, but I figured I'd say it just in case it helps. At least it'll give you something to do while waiting for someone smarter =)

VT/OG to BK/PK is correct for the reverse lights.

Check for power on the VT/OG wire.

We had a guy a while back whose switch (when removed) had no actuating pin in the trans.

I have power on the purple/orange wire at the connector for the switch and if I jumper the wires, the light will come on. I'm guessing my switch is bad even though it is new. If I leave the switch out of the trans and push the ball in on the bottom nothing happens. I can feel the actuator inside the hold with my pinky.

If your setup is anything like my 89 Ranger, then there was a 5 pin plug going into the auto trans. When I switched from an a4ld to a Mazda m5r1 I cut off the plug and hooked two wires to the reverse switch on the driver's side of the shifter base. (locate the hot wire and touch it to each remaining wire till the brake lights turn on to identify the two.)

Of the three remaining wires, two connect to the neutral safety switch on the passenger side of the shifter base and allow the starter to crank. In my case the remaining wire was pink and was ignored ( I think it had something to do with the converter lockup.

Some recommend replacing the cpu with the manual trans version, but I did not and can see no difference in performance. Hope this helps.
