New here, saying hi. About to pick up a 92 ext cab 4.0/auto that’s been sitting a while. Has an intermittent (now permanent) no crank condition, heavy fuel out exhaust while idling, bad front hub, and slight damage from a front impact but it’s low mileage (95k) has the 4.0, a 4” lift, and all the parts to repair the damaged front. The plan is to make a capable driver with a d44 knuckle swap, freshen up the front end, service all fluids and filters, then drive it until I can gather the parts to sas, 5.0/4r70 or 5sp swap. I won’t be doing any heavy Offroad just yet do to the weak trans. Besides, I have a built early Bronco for that.

I’ve been attempting to research the fuel and no crank issue but info has been hit or miss. Haven’t mastered the search engine on here yet so searches have been less than fruitful. Could anyone send me some links that may help me figure these two issues out, I would appreciate it. I’ve always loved these little trucks, I’ve owned a few. Like most other males they do have their quirks, but getting them figured out is half the fun.

Thanks.

No one has info on the fuel issue? Links? Ideas?

No cranking? Have you checked the battery voltage, grounds, stater cables, solenoid, etc?

Yes. But after new info it’s looking like the starter. I’m a little more concerned about the heavy fuel out of the exhaust. Gonna go through all of the usual checks like fuel pressure reg and other little issues until I find it I guess.
