Return of the Five-Point-Oh!

Thank you, Einstein, for providing us with such obvious facts that most true enthusiasts figured out 5 minutes after first drooling after one.

Wake up and smell the coffee - a REAL 5.0 is a push rod motor.

:word:

so you have to like push rod V8s, Vacuum operated non-overdrive automatics, 4spds with poor gear spacing and no OD, solid rear axles, and engines that make you choke and your eyes burn when they pass you to be a true gear head. I just want to make sure I understand this......... if I prefer a DOHC 32 valve boosted V8 over a 16 valve push rod V8 then I can't be a "true" gear head........
get a life
Gearhead has nothing to do with the equipment used. Quite a few down in the V-8 would qualify, doing something on their own, modifying as in "Hot Rodding". Anyone who swaps a DOHC into a Ranger would qualify as well as all the excellent Explorer swaps. The reference came up with "thebeast's" comments that way too many Mustang owners buy their cars built and don't know if that's a turbo or supercharger or even engine size.

I'm a gearhead. I know it, because I'm the kind of person that would take the spare 5.4 crate motor I have laying around, and drop it in an escort just because I could. It's not about what you build, the type of car, let alone where, it's about doing something that isn't factory, relying on a dealer to install, much less having to read a full blown manual on how to use it. It's best compared to someone who buys a laptop, reads the manual, understands perfectly how it works in their specific case, and calls themselves a computer programmer. It's not the same to buy a car, when you build it is when you would find satisfaction.

5.0L!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks modular to me?:icon_confused:

Based off the duratechs or a NEW design.

Looks nothing like a modular.
