Very nice fordman4x492, what year is yours? I really wanted to paint mine blue, but I decided to keep it white for a number of reasons.....mostly because it was easiest.

I like the Cobra rear ground effect on that blue one. Nice build, makes me miss my latest fox body. This was my 4th and latest, and favorite. Man those cars are fun as hell to drive!

I went and saw her yesterday. Holy crap I want to drive it. It was sunny yesterday, but damn cold still. If this thing only knew how much more is still going to get done to her. I'm kind of in a hard spot though because I want to start working on a lot of it, but this is also my "gas car". So I need to be driving it too if gas really hits 5 bucks a gallon.

Speaking of which, all of you Fox body owners. Have you ever driven your Stang and not taken it over 2500 rpm's for an entire tank? I have, and I was pretty impressed. It was very hard to do, but I got 27mpg with 3.55 gears.

Holy crap, you serious? No, never gotten that. Then again, I can't stay off the skinny sometimes. Even in first, I have trouble staying in the 3K region. Best is 22-23, ever. Highway. At 60-65 mph.

Crazy.

well thats never gonna happen for me. i get 8 mpg with mine. and thats with a 5.0 and a e303 cam 30lbs injectors 3.55 gears and a cobra intake, and a t-5

So, I tried it today on my way to work. Never went over 2K RPM. I guess I've never paid THAT close to my driving habits in the Mustang. But, I think doing 2K on the tach is doable. I still highllllly doubt my economy will improve with my vert though, with it being stock, old, heavy, & my foot.

I'm now running 24 lb. injectors, with 1.7 Cobra Rockers and an Explorer intake. I usually get 270-290 miles out of a tank with normal driving - this is including the occasional run in's with the Ricers. But if I watch myself, I have gotten 340-370 miles (mostly freeway though). It's very hard because I've always got some fruit cake punk wanting his doors blown off. Anyway....... I actually read about this method in a magazine (Super Ford or MM&FF) some time ago. There were some guys who were battling to see who could get the best mpg's out of their hopped up rides. I remember one of them being a Fairmont. I tried it, and it worked.
