l cannot find anything in my manuals discussing how to replace the boot, dust cover, or what ever you call it on the drag link
In my infinite wisdom l used a pickle fork to spread the drag link from the pitman arm and it ruined the boot.
Is it hard to change out... any links or thoughts... thanks

The dust boot just slips over it, nothing complicated to change. Don't use pickle forks for TRE's, just remove the cotter pin, remove the nut and give it a few good smacks with a hammer, it'll pop right out without any damage to anything.

Thanks... yeah now that l now that it was a bad idea, but at the time it was a good idea:dunno:

Just get the right tool for the job especially if you do all you own mechanic work. Think of all the money you save for not paying a mechanic and invest that money into your toolbox. I know I sure do.:D

i replaced all my steering boots with poly boots i got from 4wd hardware. they are just tie rod boots for jeeps. i used the removal fork, but a hammer will prob. work.
