I have a 1999 Ranger XLT off-road 4x4. It has 269K miles. I keep geting a check engine light that says misfire on cylinder 5. I have replaced all plugs and wires. no help. I am considering replacing the coil. Any issues safeguards etc with changing 1 coil on the pack?

You should have a single coil pack with six connectors, right?
Pretty simple to change, but
MARK ALL THE WIRES BEFORE DISCONNECTING
