My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
After doing some research, I edited the following post:

Sometime ago - 2015 - I replaced my worn out ignition lock cylinder with an aftermarket Ford ignition cylinder. The keys look like blanks. Being dumb, I installed it without thinking that the new ignition might not play well with my remote start, let alone not work with the doors or any other locking mechanism. Even dumber, I tossed the old ignition

I can use the key fob to start/arm/disarm, etc, but turning on the ignition and then turning it off does not shut down the engine. Again, I can use the key fob to shut it down.

I know there is some relationship between the ignition and the alarm but what is it?

How do I go about returning it to normal - making it work with the remote?

I have a couple of the original keys. Is it as simple as going to a locksmith or something of that nature - the dealership (god forbid)? I understand I will/may have to replace the door locks etc, but that's ok.

Thank for any advice.
