Hi.

I'm looking to replace my front differential carrier assembly.
I found a unit online with part ID 440-01348D

It comes out of a 97 Explorer and I don't know if it's really a direct fit as it's stated on the page.
Is this the correct one without the vacuum disconnect on the passenger side?
Other information I find on the web indicates that it is correct, but I want to be sure before ordering.

Thanks for the help.
Olivier

I can't recall what year they eliminated the disconnect (either '97 or '98)... Have you called the yard it's at and asked whether it's a disconnect or non-disconnect housing? Seems like that'd be the easiest way to find out if you're not sure...

The Ford Center axle disconnect was only present in 1995/1996 ford explorers. so you should be good with a 97 (I have a 1996 CAD axle welded with a cable to lock unlock it in the front of my ranger)
