So I am in the process of re-building the trans out of my 89 BII that I got off Craigslist and am wondering if it would be the best plan to replace the TC? And also if the trans was run dry would that fry the pump as well? Is there any way to test the pump to check it out. Thanks Oh its an A4LD as well

You will have to measure the clearances of the pump aswell as any wear that is on it aswell. I'd recommend replacing the TC whenever rebuilding a trans.

TC

UNLESS that is you just LOVEEEE the fight of pulling a trans just to do it again, and knowing you should have done it right the first time,, That way there are NO REGRETS,, take your time do it right, The TC could look brand new outside, but could be biggest pile of crap on inside,, Where you CANT SEE enough to make a borderline call,
