I have searched for an answer to my question without success. I have a 2004 Mazda B2300 and im in the process of changing my clutch. When I went to remove my shift lever the chiltons manual says to remove the bolt from the base of the shift lever. After pulling everything off I noticed a threaded stud going through the base with a nut on one end. I pulled off the nut and im unable to remove the threaded stud going through the base of the shifter. Does anyone know how to remove the shifter and/or give me some advice on removing it?

Thanks

giving a few knocks with a hammer should do, i knocked mine with the same wrench i removed the nut.
the bolt has a "locking" wedge on it, so it will go out to 1 side only

install the nut onto the other end of the treaded shaft & it works like a puller as it will pull the treaded shaft out of the shifters base
