Anyone ever try removing the sway bars on a double wishbone torsion front end. Any good results? I'm getting horrible articulation outta my '99 Ranger 4x4.

Yep, thats what I'm going to do. I'll find it out for myself on my memorial holiday off.

I junked the sway bars a while ago on my truck; it leans a bit more in corners so I have just adjusted my driving accordingly.

Go ahead and remove it and see how you like it. You should take corners a little slower, but if a sway bar is the only thing keeping your wheels down on a curve you're going to fast anyway.

I have a different truck than you do, so it may not be the same, but I pulled my front and rear. It's a little more tender around corners but not bad.

I took my sway bars out front and rear and barely notice a difference and your front is ifs and you wont get any flex anyways.

what effect on TTB?

Took mine off my TTB, noticed hardly any difference on the road with 5in lift

Offroad the flex got a little better, I am running Superstiff's springs though

Feels fricken' nice for a bone stock truck. There's not a lot of sway around the corners if you drive right but well worth the $4 of WD40 haha.

yea on my 6" lifted ttb i dont mind the lack of swaybars on-road..

did you actually notice an increase in front wheel travel?

I noticed a little bit but not much.... but it's wroth getting a little bit more out of it. Probably gonna work on it a little bit more.

When I played with a SLA Ranger, I found I couldn't get the frontend to flex more than about 3" with the big thick front swaybar still attached, no matter how hard I tried.

With it disconnected, the suspension flexed to its maximum travel of 6" much easier (easily reaching the bumpstop on compression). Bodyroll in curves was more pronounced than on a TTB truck though.

Yeah... I'll have to put a little relief in the torsion bars and see were that will get me.

Could you maybe modify the stock sway bar end bushings to be Quick-release?
I am planning to use hood pins, they fit right into my lower bushings, just gotta grind some thread off after welding the nut to one end, maybe with something to hold onto to remove it, and the pin on the other end, the type where the round ring snaps over the pin to keep it in place...........

Just my .02...........
