I performed a search on this and couldnt pull anything up. I just ordered the newer ranger decals. I was wondering about how to remove the old ranger emblems safely without screwin anything up Are they just held by an adhesive? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It's gonna be thick foam doubleback tape, for lack of a better description. The thing I use is a 2" sharp, flexible putty knife. Sharpen the end a little if it's not sharp. Make sure there's no burs on the knife that'll scratch the paint. , and start slicing away at the edges. Gradually work the knife between the fender and emblem, slicing away the tape. If you're carefull, you can cut around the 2 posts of the emblem, and get it most of the way freed. Then just stick the putty knife straight down between the pins, and pry slightly, this is where the putty knife has to be flexible, because that'll keep it from denting the fender. After you get the emblem off, there will still be half the thickness of the tape still on the fender. Take and roll back an edge, grab that edge, and pull it like you're trying to stretch it. This will release the tape better than rolling it off or trying to pick it off piece by piece. Once it's all off, take some adhesive cleaner (mild solvent) and wash the rest of the residue off.

some emblems go on different than others,
My Ranger emblems came of with just a butter knife, there was minor sticking, nothin serious, My mazda had little clips that had to be pulled of with strength but lightly

i think its tape and 2 posts, do the putty knife idea, than with most of the tape cut, pust agents the pins if you can with something(i always used a hammer head, of a body hammer) and pull the emblem and it shouldnt scratch if youre careful with the sliceing

I used a heat gun to loosen the sticky tape first. That worked really well. Fortunately I was planning on painting the whole truck as the residue is a PITA to clean off without marring factory paint.
