removing door

Hi everyone, I've just started what will be lots of work on my ranger with the ultimate goal to paint it. If you guys don't mind, I've got a few questions that I can't find the answers to by searching.

What is the best way to remove the doors? Bolts on the door or the body? Any suggestions on best way to make realignment easier when putting them back on?

Bolts on the door IMO. 1/2 Ratcheting wrench will do it real quick.

For alignment, you'll need another person to hold the door.

Before removing the door, outline the hinges with a sharpie or similar. Put them back on by putting the hinges in the outlines and tightening.

or remove the hindge pins.

I've tried both ways...if you remove the front fender it's much easier to use the bolts on the body...and marking them is a good idea if there is no outline already there...also, the ones on the body are adjustable, but the door ones are not...or have limited adjustment

i just made some quick disco pins for my hinges yesterday, took maybe 2 min each side to take the doors off, i took them off at the door, and a floorjack with a blanket doubled over it helps. they arent near as heavy as my 00 ranger doors, and those were all manual!

Thanks guys, I'm planning on taking the fenders off too so I'll try that way. It looks like it will be easier to mark that side with the fender off.
