Removing a 2wd 5spd trans mabe this might help

Ok here we go lol its 40* outside , I have all the bolts out ,
some things I have learned along the way with my 93 ranger .
1) If the plastic sleve on your slave cylinder will not work ., remove the master slave cylinder and hydrolic clutch from the fire wall and fish the whole thing line and all back down to the bottom of the truck (hint ) there might be about 2ft of plastic tube between the frame and body just jack the body up till you can pull and free the line ). (2) the top bolt`s is not too bad you need a ratchet where you can put different angles on it put the ratchet on the bolt from the top and loosen the bolt from the bottom the bolt on the passenger side is easy.
(3) the bolt on the shifter loosen and remove and place on the back of threaded by the seat tighten till you can pull up on the shifter to remove it ..
,but if that dont work then lift that rubber pice up and undo the three screws
star head and lift the whole thing up and off.
that is what I have found so far. I`m going for the drop tomorrow

well round 2 the transmission mount crossmember bracket bolt
had to be cut on the nut side and the bracket bent out to drop the crossmember
hint ) don`t torch the bushings in the bracket unless they are bad ,or you were going to replace them anyway.. the trans is out of the truck lol and away from it
 
I just cut the bracket out... and put the suicide doors X-member in place... Nor more rusted in bushings
 
mark the fly wheele tooth to the dust plate preferably by a bolt then unbolt the 6 bolts 1/4 turn at a time till all are removed . insert the alignment tool remember the position of the tool hole.
note the position of the clutch don`t put it back in backwards.
you might want to put on gloves and safty glasses cause of dust protect your lungs to
(asbestos)from the clutch tap the pressure plate off of the guides if any damage is done to the fly wheele have it resurfaced .
pilot bering you will need a pilot bering puller ., if you dont have a slide hammer then you can use 2 box end wrinches place them behind the puller then pry then evenly till the bering comes out., throw out bering replace it. install the clutch tork the bolts to 15 to 24 ft lbs . align the output shaft to the center of the clutch .
install the crossmember for safty if you are on your back and by yourself it saved me last night ,the transmission slipped off of the jack.
(I got the bottom 2 bolts on the transmission started then the next 2 bolts up from that ) if you can`t get a bolt into the threaded part of the hole loosen all the bolts ,but don`t take them out wiggle the transmission then try that blot again tork the bolts 50 to 68ft lbs
the crossmember if the bushings are gone ,, i used a radius arm bushing and a tempered nut and blot same size as the origanal and torked it to 85ft lbs.
 
I took it around the b lock at about 8;30pm everything worked clutch was smooth
BIG HAPPY DANCE my wife did a big happy dance cause the drive way is clear of clutter
and her Explorer get a transfer case now but yes everything works great
 
Good, glad to hear it went well for you. I should be finishing up tomorrow as well, but it may be a long day. I still need to go to AutoZone to buy, plug wires, PVC valve, negative battery cable, and fluids. I also need to go there to swap out my clutch kit for a new one. I bought the lifetime clutch and slave cylinder a while ago and it's been heaven ever since.

Too bad they don't have a lifetime master or I'd be all over it..lol

Ok guys, cross your fingers for me.. first time replacing a slave cylinder on any type of car so im praying that your walk-thru helps. From what ive seen on the truck and what ive just read, im fairly sure your post hits the nail on the head. 1 question i have before diving in head first... My little bit of experience with auto mechanics has taught me that not everything always goes back the way it came off. hence the hours spent readjusting/wiggling/bashing and cursing ive experienced in the past. is there any heads-up or tips or tricks and/or forewarnings before starting this little field trip? thanks in advance for the helpful post and any further assistance yall may be!
