i have an 89 2.3 4x4 i'm need to replace the clutch. How the Hell to you remove the top driver side bell houseing bolt!??????? i cannot get a wrech on that stupid bolt even if i broke my arm in 3 spots

You can drop the crossmember and lower the rear of the transmission and the motor will tilt down with it. Make sure not to hit the distributor on the firewall though.

You can also use a ratchet with the correct extensions. I think I used a boxed end wrench and a rubber mallet.

Yeah, but he still won't be able to get a wrench on it....

the easy way is to do it the way I do...
a 1/2" drive 24" extension with a swivel socket on the end
... turned with my IR-231 1/2" impact gun...

thanks guys, that problem was i couldn't get a boxend wrench on it for the love of god and i tried lowering and raising the trans both ways and still had no luck. i finally got it with the way allan described, two swivels and two 12inch extensions on a 1/2" drive wrachet. shes out now!

now my problem is that stupid disconect for the clutch line froze up and wouldn't release so i have to cut the line (not happy bout that) and now i have the replace the line and slave
