My credo
To send it or not to send it, that is the question.
So i decided to hack the muffler off and i decided to start it up, well it might honestly stay like this because the laws aren't strict here, and I'm honestly surprised that it doesn't sound like a Honda with a fart can.

It'll sound like crap once you put a load on the engine. You might not hear it but everyone else will.

im not able to really tow anything with it,or even go up a hill because i immediately have to downshift at a slight hill... mostly because the rings are shot, but it still runs, and i'm saving up for a engine to swap into it since i don't think it will really live for much longer

Been driving my 3.0 Ranger without a muffler for years. It's loud but not obnoxious. Cops don't seem to care one bit, neither does anyone else from appearances. Bent "Y" welded to the converter, then two stainless tips welded to the Y.

I think the converter also muffles sound somewhat.

Get a cherry bomb shorty

I think the converter also muffles sound somewhat.

Well, mine has triple converters. One off each side since it's a V-6, and the other after the two join up. So yeah, it's not obnoxious. Loud yes. Haven't heard a single complaint. I was over at a friend's machine shop one day, left the truck idling outside. His dad came in and asked me what size V-8 was under the hood. Told him V-6. He said, "sounds like a nice V-8." Oh, those two downturn dumps actually made it a mite quieter. Directing the sound down and aft. Had to take them off as they corroded from the front tire tossing junk at them. I should've paid more attention to them, they weren't cheap. Need to find two more. 3.5 entry, 4.0 exit. Clamp onto the long straight pipes.

My '88 had a single converter and a cherry bomb... very quiet. I replaced the cat (was partially plugged and broken) with a piece of pipe and it is LOUD. Obnoxiously loud. I'm gonna have to put a different muffler on it.

Doesn't quite have the Honda fart can sound though. Slightly lower pitched.

Speaking of obnoxiously loud, the exhaust on my 2 door Explorer was totally rusted out, cat and all. Y-pipe and flange was OK so I built a temporary exhaust system out of driveshaft tubing and the tailpipe section that hadn't totally rusted off yet. That one is not only loud but it has an irritating drone at certain RPMs. Can't wait to fix that with a real muffler.

Just get this and hang out the window when you hit the nozzle.
A real RN Fart Can!!! ;missingteeth;
Grumpaw
