i have a 90 ranger and i was wondering if there is supposed to be 3 relays under the distribution box? cause mine only has 2 a green one and a brown one, i have a buddy that has a 92 and his has a black one also.

so am i missing the black one and if so what is it supposed to controll?

there is another wire harness that i noticed hanging under the air box that kinda looks like the other relay harness but it is gray.

A/C WOT cutout relay.

that is what the black relay is?
and i am supposed to have it?
also would not having that one cause the KOER test to spit out the code forgot the # but it says "no WOT response detected" ??????
as far as the A/C the belt is not on the truck and was not when i bought it, got to looking and it is still the R-12 freon so the relay probley got taken out as with the belt cause it stoped working.

thank you very much this could solve a few of my rigs problems

Just because it is R-12, doesn't mean it isn't working. Many R-12 systems still work better than R134a systems. R-12 can be converted to R-134a.
Yes, the missing relay could cause the WOT non-response code.

any idea part number on that relay and about how much? and does it go by any other name or just a relay?

and as far as converting the system to R-134a all i have found on that is very expensive like 1500 bucks.
so if it works yea if not just drive faster with the windows down

As far as the response code, did you apply the throttle when the computer signaled the goose pulse? If not, then the KOER test was not done properly and that code is thrown.

yea the obd-1 tester says turn wheel 1/2 turn to right then release, switch overdrive, then press gass pedle to the floor then release, i tried shifting into overdrive and the tester doesent work so i skip that part and it spits the no wide open throttle detected code at me?
