I want to put a sub in my '92 STX...

What's everyone else doing for a sub? Not much room at all...

Anyone know where to get a cheap shallow mount 10" sub?

This should be in the audio section.

and do a search there has been ALOT of talk about this.

I see I posted in the wrong section.

I searched my ass off and barely found anything. I'm looking for a place with cheap shallow subs and what sizes people have used.

Well I'm not going to have any oroblem building the box...

I just need to find a cheap 10" shallow subwoofer. SOmehting under $50. I don't give a damn about quality. Just need something to get me by.

I have a regular cab and bought a kicker box and it fits amazing and im 6 foot and have tons of room and its ported so great sound....but a type s or a cheap kicker will work

I have an 8 in sub in a fairly low profile box meant to fit behind the seat in a reg cab ranger. I'm currently using it in my super cab in it sounds great. The bass isn't overwhelming it just adds great depth to my existing stereo.

I have a '92 Ford Ranger XLT, and I took out the arm rest, and installed an 8" Bazooka El Series. It sounds good, and it provides as an armrest in place of the other one:

I do have 2-12" Kicker Comp 05-124C in the bed with a Tonneau cover to protect them from the weather...

Are you serious??? You must be running and 8" or something...

*EDIT*Just noticed that last post. That's the same box I have. My sub is different, The inside of my box had to be clearanced for the DVC sub, but it doesn't stick out any more. How do you have "tons of room"?

I have a Kicker truck box, with a DVC Kicker 10". It's behind my pass seat, and unless your shorter than 5'6" it's not to comfortable. The passenger seat of my truck only goes back 2 clicks.

BTW, a ported box is the way to go in a reg cab. It plays games with the small cabin air pressure. Way better than a sealed box which works with vibrations.

i have sub design on my photobucket link in my signature.

going to be putting a single 12" in my truck, have the sub and the amp right now, but the wiring kit wasn't rated for enough, and i've been so busy i haven't had time to send it back yet.

I have a 12 inch kicker comp with a pyramid style box, i think it will fit behind the seat of my 90 regular cab ranger, is there anything i can do to make more room besides taking out the stock speakers, ive already done that. i was thinking maybe taking the carpet paneling off behind the seat. any other suggestions? ill upload pics in a couple days...

if you take the carpet off i would suggest putting some sort of protection on the bare metal.

try a bed liner material or something of that sort.

i wouldn't think you are THAT limited on space though.... all you need to do is barely meet the depth requirement for your sub, and then just make it a wide box to make up for lack of depth to get the correct air pressures in there.
