Just had the transfer case out of my Ranger, and what I had to do to one of my spare cases left me with the part of the case that's used for a doubler :), anyway, grabbed a tape measure and there's about 4" between the T case and the front of the fuel tank, doublers apparently add 6" length, anyone ever relocate the fuel tank back say 3"? If I remember correctly there isn't really anything in the way of doing that other than it being a PITA to move the crossmembers that are involved...

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to swap to a rear mount bII tank? You'd get a bigger tank, it would be out of the way, and It would provide more rear end weight.

Its just an idea. I did just pull my bed and remove my tank (thanks Ford for my tiny tank!) So i can look at it and let you know.

There's nothing but exhaust there on mine so that might be a route to take... I forgot about that option, I'll have to think about it...

Did that on my 91...grabbed the stock rear cross members outta a B2 and bought a new tank. I extended the factory lines using longer lengths that we had at work from old jobs. We also have the splicing tool for the factory lines so that helped...

I still have the stock fuel pump/sender in the B2 tank so my gauge is off.

BII tank is a good option, even doing it on my first gen lowered ride. Only problem I've been having is getting my hands on the FWD tank cross member. Got every needed part except that. No local yards willing to remove it and no local pick-n-pull yards that I could carry my own tools into.
