Hello,

I have a 1987 4x4 Bronco II with a D28 and the 7.5" rear; I desire to incorporate both a 91-94 Explorer D35 and 8.8". I have read in the axle tech and forums and the information says that the 8.8" 91-94 Explorer rear end is 3" longer (I presume this means that if I measured from the outside edge of the left brake drum to the outside edge of the right brake drum it will measure 3" longer than a pre 92 Ranger rear end). If this isn't correct please chime in.

My Question is, is the 91-94 Explorer D35 also 3" wider?:bad:

Both the D35 and Explorer rearend measure 59.5" at the wheel mounting surface.

this is 1.5" wider overall than your BII at both ends (BII axles are 58").

!!!total Appreciation!!!

:headbang:

Thank you metalmcguyver I very much appreciate knowing the widths of both systems; thank you 4x4junkie, I definitely appreciate anyone who is willing to assist me in better communicating in the future!

I can know move to parts aquisistion and D35 conversion.

This forum is the best!:icon_cheers:

Are the ranger D35s 59.5" as well?

Yep, all D35 TTBs are the same width regardless of year/vehicle (the D28 was 58")
