So after having my red wings for a month I had to take them to the store to get shoe goo applied to the toes to keep the concrete crawlspaces I inspect for work from wearing holes in the toe.
They've been gone for threedays and already I miss them. The boots I had before them feel like slippers now.
Since my mother was buying them for me as my Christmas present, I opted for a pair of 2412s
I loved them so much that I'm taking my tax return and had the shore order me a pair of 2230s just for everyday wear like going out and visiting friends and whatnot.
I've noticed a couple other members had mentioned they liked their red wings too, I thought it would be interesting to see what versions everybody had, what type of work they did, how long the boots have lasted, and of course how happy they are with them.
Model numbers can be looked up by going to www.redwingshoes.com and putting the number in the search box.
So I'll start. I got a pair of 2412s. My job is mostly doing Termite inspections. So I'm running through mulch, mud, snow. Then I have to clean my feet off when I go to check the inside of houses. Then they have to hold up to me crawling around in crawlspaces with either mud or rough concrete.
Haven't had them long enough to say how well they've held up, but I absolutely love them. I've never had boots this comfortable and even with the 3 feet of snow we've had on the ground my feet have stayed dry.
Lets hear what you guys think of yours.
