I need a shackle that has a 1" diameter pin, with a 1" or 1-1/8" opening in the shackle itself. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I found these, but they don't list the width between the two mounting points.

Anchor Shackle - Bolt Type - 7/8" Steel - 6.50 Ton

Or is it not such a big deal so long as the 1" pin diameter matches the 1" shackle mount hole size.

Thanks

I don't know about the opening width, but IIRC the 6.5t shackles I've used had nearly a 1 1/2" opening. 8.5t? (1 1/4" pin) were at least a 2" opening. They're pretty big.

You should be fine. Unless you can't go bigger...

What are you trying to do?

I've got shackle mounts on my pickup now, I just need a shackle to fit inside them for recovery work, just figured it would be good to be pretty close to the dimensions of the shackle mount itself. Just for recovery work when we get stuck hunting or someone goes in the ditch if I need to use my front shackles.

You might want to run a 7/8 in a 1" opening in case things get nasty and you mess up the mounts. A 1" in a 1" hole may get jammed. And I've beat the crap out of 3/4" shackles (4.75T) using them to recover. Never had a problem.

Thank's for the input!:icon_thumby:
