i beleive the head blew on the passenger side of my 86 2.9.
my roommate used the truck to go to class while i was in sc and he called me sayin it was pourin out coolant from the back of the pass. side head area. :annoyed:

is there anyone who knows bout how long it would take to replace the head gaskets?
cause i have to do it at night so the landlord doesnt find out whats goin on and kicks me out of my apartment.

If you had all your parts ready to go and reasonable/correct tools at your disposal, as well as, good lighting....one could expect to do this within 3-6 hrs. definitely doable on a week end.

the biggest bump in the plan would be exhaust manifold bolts...if they cooperate & replacement part runs are minimal, then you've got it made.

It just might be wiser to rent a garage/storage unit...just in case the weather isn't cooperating, or , as you dig to do this, something else rears its ugly head and delays things. and.....This way you won't run the risk of finding new living quarter too.:bawling: :shok:

kinda wonder if a frost plug let loose...but it could be a cracked head...no matter, the process is the same.:annoyed:
