Hey everyone, I'm thinking of replacing my stock shocks, so I'm just looking for any suggestions/recommendations for replacement shocks. I don't have a lift of any kind, it's a plain stock 99 Ranger XLT, 3.0L, 4WD. Thanks!

if u can afford them, like always i say go with billstiens, if not, any standard white shock will do

shock selection is largely dependent on how you drive and what you use the truck for.

if your a spirited driver, you may want something a little stiffer to help control the body in corners. if you like lincolns, you might want something a lot softer, to float over pot holes.

same thing goes with driving loaded/unloaded. a truck that spends most of its time with a bedfull of crap will want a hard shock...at least in the rear.

of coarse you can always get an adjustable shock like rancho or edlebrock sell and then you'd be set for any situation.

Bilsteins are a pretty safe bet if your feeling a bit spendy. Monroe also makes a great stock type shock, and they're reasonably priced.

Oh, and don't get a set of Rancho RS5000's unless you want your teeth rattled out.

I had monroe sensatracs on my front, and replaced them with the Rancho 5000's. I think the Rancho's give a better ride.
