I have a Crapman, er I mean Craftsman 3 ½ ton floor jack. It is junk but man is it pretty. I bought it a few years ago and got very little use out of it before it started to give out. :annoyed: As much as I would love to throw it in a scrap pile, I think I should try and repair it first. I am spending enough o tools as it is so I would like to avoid buying a new floor jack if I can help it. Have any of you tried it? Can it be rebuilt and working like new again?

I'm sorry to tell you to forget it. I'm working in hydraulic, and to repare those jack is a lost of time, it should work, but it won't last.

Sorry, but a new jack is the best solution.

Well I want one, but money is starting to get tight. Thanks for letting me now.

I thought Crafstman had lifetime warranty? You should be able to take it back..

Harbor Freight>>>

I bought one of these couple years ago:

I went to the store lookin for a pneumatic metal punch/flange tool, but they had the these jacks marked down as a "that day special" for $50, so I couldn't pass up that price, and it gave me 2 jacks that size in my garage, and it's amazin how NICE it is to have 2 at times:icon_thumby:

And honestly, it would probably cost ya more to rebuild it than to replace it!

Do you have your receipt? I'd try to exchange it at SEARS, if ya can find one, they seem to be somethin of the past here lately. The store here in Athens doesn't do replacements, they have to send it off, and mail it back to you. SUKS!:annoyed:

from the reviews online about craftsman jacks it seems like most of them give out in 2 or 3 years. im looking for one but probably wont be going with a craftsman

Warranty for jack is 1 year. Had mine replaced just before the 1 year mark.

I think the curent lifetime is only on hand tools.

Craftsman tools suck, period. TEven thier life time crap is something you have to fight them on. I do nto even think I got two years out of this jack. I was hoping my wife could get it repaired for me beofre I got home. I have a D60 swap planned for my R&R. I guess maybe I should send her to the store to find me a new one.
