Has anyone done a "how-to" write up on a 3.0 rebuild? If not, I'll take a bunch of pics and do a write up when I do mine. Just wonderin'.

not that im aware of, theres lots of tech specs/info in the tech library, but no step by step guide showing disassebly, cam bearing replacement and the likes, and reassembly. i say go for it!

Ehh, yank out the engine and start taking crap off, then you put the new crap in, then put the engine back in......haha. But really the 3.0 is pretty darn simple, I have had one down to the block on one half and I have had another 3.0 down aways too. It was easy to get back together too.

yeah, theyre pretty simple - especially the pre EEC-V models, much less wiring to remove! when i tore mine down for rebuild it was apart for almost a year before i reassembled, luckily i had a parts truck with an identical motor to use as a "put back together manual".

Please do a write up so I have something to follow!

Yea, I had some pics of mine, and a chilton manual, it was a little unnerving though because I had two engines that I was putting the best of both into one, so I had extra parts and bolts. So I had to double check every bolt and make sure I didn't need it.

my friend and i did the head on his jeep a year or so ago and there's still extras sittin on hit bench:icon_thumby: but he sold it anyways about 3 months after
