yeah its common, but you do see 4x4's with 7.5's from 92 and lower years.
i think all newer ranger 93+ 4x4's will always have 8.8's tho
fords crazy, there is no exact year or size for the drivetrain, things get placed where they shouldnt beWRONG. My 99 3.0 4x4 has a 7.5 rear end, AND it's a super cab.
