im installing another rear window and i was wondering what type of sealant i should use.

what year truck? i know 1st and 2nd gens you don't need any

If it's rope in, none, if it's bolt in, you should get some Butyl tape.

My 93 is a rope in. Just use the rubber seal that goes around the window. You won't need any type of sealant. I changed mine to a slider, and have had no probs.

well i ended up just calling a window place they said either put it in dry or use a silicon. They said they use other stuff but it is basically fancy silicon that is more messy. so ill just use the silicon and hopefully it keeps it leak free!

ohh btw the it is not a rope type it has like 10 or so studs that fastens it in.

thanks

If it's got the studs, then you should get butyl tape, you can get it at an autobody supply store, or some auto parts stores.
