I have a 3007 Ranger with the solid glass rear window. Would a 1993 sliding window fit my truck? Thanks.

If it is from an Supercab (extended cab), I believe the answer is yes. Regular cab Rangers before a certain year had a smaller window but I’m not sure when that was. 1998 I believe is the cut off.

Thanks, I'll check it before I buy it.

Searching our forums, I found this;

up to 1997 the single cabs had a gasket set rear window and at that different size. The extended cabs 93-97 had a bolt in with tar gasket rear window. 1998 and up single cab as well as extended cab all have the bolt in with tar gasket rear window.

Bolt in window swaps with bolt in window single cab to extended cab. Ive used a 1993 extended bolt in window in a 1998 single cab with the bolt in window. Ive used the solid rear bolt in I removed from the 1998 and its been in a 1995 extended cab and a 1997. Ive pulled a 2001 single cab bolt in window and fit it to a 1997 extended cab.

You pretty much cant use the single cab rear windows from anything 1997 and older. Those are gasket fit only. The windows are already gobbed with the tar gasket sealer and you most likely will not have to buy or use anything extra if you pull one from another Ranger. All the tar will come off with the window. Its honestly a 15-20 minute job you can do yourself.

That’s a lot of words for…
There are 2 windows:
83-97 regular cab
- or -
Everything else.

Thank you all for the info.

I have a 93 extra cab....so its a bolt in?

Are the bolts under all the plastic trim?

I still havent fixed my busted rear glass since posting about it.

Still window shopping, pun intended.

If its that easy, I may just bolt in a piece of lexan or plexi for now (I have a bunch of it).

That’s how I understand it.

Anything special I should know about popping off the trim?

seems pretty straightforward to me, as in I'll probaby break a few tabs lol

I don't think I even popped off the trim, just slid the ?8?mm wrench* in and undid the nuts, then pushed the window out.

*I have a ratcheting wrench purchased specifically for this: Having "lost" >50% of the nuts into the trim when removing the one in the wrecking yard and had to fish the wrench out with a magnet, I got a ratcheting wrench (needs to be thin) and applied a little spray tack to it, so the nuts didn't drop.

Pushing the window out is much easier on a 30*C day than a 10*C one, but the tar gasket material wants to get on everything...

On my '97 the trim under the window is just like 6 screws, the problem is the side trim doesn't leave a lot of room and neither does the headliner... I broke the head off a couple of the bigger clips when tryin to pull them out...

The windows I've taken out had 9mm heads on the nuts
