Does anyone know of any other year or vehicle that has a rear thermostat housing like my 1985 ford ranger has. I can't find one anywhere. Not at a junkyard or online. I really need one thank you

Just moved your question to the general discussion forum.

What engine do you have?

What do you mean by "rear". I don't even know of an engine that came in 85 with the housing anywhere but the front of the engine.

The one that goes behind the lower on a 2.8. Behind the water pump and timing cover for the bypass hose.

??? Take a picture and post it here

This is the set up I have for the thermostat.

As I posted in the other thread, and I think Gump mentioned it also, you can put longer bolts in there with nuts on the back, it's not too hard to do. While you are back there, there is a hose running vertically back there that hooks up behind the waterpump. Mine looked original and was hard as a rock. I wanted to replaced it while I was in there, but the way it's shaped I could not make a homemade one work. It also has a very large end on one end, and a smaller end on the other. But believe or not, the store was able to order this hose for me and I was able to replace it.

You can get stuff for this engine, but they always have to order it. I got a brand new waterpump for it at a reasonable price. But they had to order it in.
