ok i've done some searching on here and have come up somewhat empty handed. i'm sure this quetion has been brought up before but. what is the factory spring rate on a 98 xcab 4x4 4.0? and what are some options for lift spring packs that offer the same or less spring rate. i've heard the superlift soft rides are pretty flexy, what else is out there??

thanks guys

I think the stock leafs are in the range of 200-300PPI (pounds per inch), but I can't say for sure (you might be able to get a rather rough idea by loading the rear of the truck until it sits exactly 1" lower, then divide that weight (in pounds) by 2 to get the spring's PPI rating).

Leaf springs tend to be very non-linear however, so the rating may change depending on things like the spring shackle angle, and how much arch the spring has (and/or how much it's against the OL leaf on the bottom).

Skyjacker's leaf springs flex pretty good. Superlift I'm not sure on (their front coils are very stiff). James Duff (Deaver) springs are probably even flexier still.

thanks! i just want something that is comparable to the front cage springs. i won't be hauling anything with it, for the most part.
