Okay I was considering putting 4wd rear shocks on my 2wd Gen 1 Ranger, would this be the wrong idea? Will it shorten the life of the shock even if I have Explorer leafs? Thanks

2wd drive shock will be shorter.

Yeah, the 2wd Shocks are shorter than the 4x4 shocks by around 3"

Thanks, after realizing that; how well would the rear 4wd shocks do on a 2wd with Explorer leafs?

prolly work just fine, just make sure they dont compress too much as to bottom out the shock

Thanks for the reply. After doing the math the 2wd shocks will have 7 inches of travel and the 4wd shocks will have 5 inches of travel but will probably ride a little on the stiff side.
